Dielectric materials, cut
to your dimensions.

PNA converts electrical insulation materials fabricated to your exact dimensions. Grades are selected by thermal class — from Class Y (90 °C) through Class H and beyond (180 °C+) — and put to work across motors, transformers, appliances, and wire insulation. Polyimide, aramid, polyester, polycarbonate, and self-fusing silicone, die-cut into the barrier your design needs.

02  How it works

Stand off voltage,
hold up to heat.

Electrical insulation materials are used across all electrical and electronic equipment — electric motors, transformers, appliances, office equipment, and wire insulation. The right grade is chosen for dielectric strength and thermal class, then converted to your dimensions.

Insulation is chosen on two axes at once — how much voltage it must stand off, and how hot it will run.

PNA stocks a broad range of dielectric films, papers, and tapes and converts them into slot liners, phase and layer insulation, barriers, washers, and fold-up 3D insulators — cut precisely, accurately, and repeatably.

Grades are specified by IEC 60085 thermal class, from Class Y (90 °C) through Class N (200 °C) and higher, so the insulation is matched to the hotspot temperature and dielectric requirement of your application.

01

A dielectric barrier

High breakdown strength blocks current between conductors at close spacing — the film stands off voltage where insulation clearance is tight.

02

Rated by thermal class

Materials are selected by IEC 60085 class, from Class Y (90 °C) to Class N (200 °C), matched to the winding hotspot and service temperature.

03

Flame retardance built in

UL 94 V-0 and VTM-0 grades meet enclosure flammability requirements without adding a separate barrier or coating.

04

Fabricated to your dimensions

Die-free Zünd conversion cuts slot liners, barriers, washers, and fold-up 3D insulators to exact print geometry — prototype through production.

03  Thermal classes

The right class
for the hotspot.

Insulation is rated by the maximum temperature it can endure over its service life. We select and convert materials across the full IEC 60085 range — matched to the winding hotspot your design runs at.

Thermal classTypical materialsMax tempTypical use
Class Y

Silicone, aramid (Nomex), mica180 °CHigh-temperature motors and transformers.
Class N
IEC 60085

Thermal class temperatures follow IEC 60085 and represent the maximum hotspot temperature for a nominal service life. Actual grade selection depends on voltage, mechanical duty, and environment. Send your requirement — we’ll confirm the material and class against your application.
